[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Gosh, it’s really such a long time since I swatched a make-up palette! It feels a bit strange to be honest – I’ve been including a few bits and pieces of current stuff recently but this is the first item I’ve actually brushed out onto my arm. In conversations with beauty friends, we’ve been wondering whether eye products will suddenly outstrip lips – if we are to wear masks when out, there doesn’t seem much point in a power lip day to day – I certainly think mascara will have its moment so I’ll do a round up of my favourites next week.
It’s a bit of a play on a sunset palette – not so obvious perhaps but very wearable shades that you can use lightly or dramatically, depending upon how the mood takes you.
Shades going along the palette as you see it are: Flesh, Covets, Fantasy, She Said, Meet Ya, For More and On The Dance Floor. I’ve got tricky light changing conditions in the kitchen today but the swatches are accurate – maybe more so than the palette picks which bleach out every time the sun comes from behind a cloud and die when the cloud covers the light. I’ve always resisted getting ‘lighting’ because it’s just too professional – brochure-y – for my liking but the downside to keeping it real is that sometimes it’s impossible to get the best shots. Anyway, enough of the moaning – back to the product. The metallic shades that you see are that kind of gel-ish powder that needs a very delicate touch with a brush – it’s very easy to carve in there without meaning to.

All the other shades are matte – and beautifully pigmented. You really don’t need to go over and over on the lid – in fact, be careful of picking up too much in the first place.

Skin is endlessly fascinating stuff – the largest living organ of our body and always in a state of flux…
So here we are – actually, the last shade, On The Dance Floor, has a bit of sheen to it and it’s my favourite colour from this palette, along with Covets, a nicely wearable neutral shade that elevates a natural look. It’s £40 HERE, non affiliate HERE. At the moment, it’s listed as a limited edition – when the sun is shining and the heat returns it’s a nice buy to wear in a variety of different ways, smooth in the application and as we speak, I’m working out the best way to wear that orange!
