Tam Mason Nourishing Sugar Hand Scrubs

If there’s one area of our bodies that we’ve had to focus on much more recently, it’s hands. All the extra washing and sanitizing is essential but skin doesn’t necessarily appreciate this level of germ-killing.

With softer, more conditioned hands in mind, this small brand from Somerset is a wonderful find. One of the things that I appreciate about smaller, artisanal brands is that they’re usually not skimpy on quality like bigger brands making in bulk who pare the expensive ingredients down to the minimum so you get a little waft of fragrance for example but not a big hit. So, if it’s a big hit you like, these scrubs are going to be right up your street.

The fragrances I have here to try are Mint & Cedarwood and Bergamot & Blood Orange. Wow – they are blast of essential oil notes … if the peppermint doesn’t wake you right up, I am not sure what would. I’m a sucker for a citrus so Bergamot & Blood Orange is my personal favourite, but there are several different varieties to choose from.

The addition of the little wooden spoon ensures that you scoop out the appropriate amount for a thorough scrub without having to dip your fingers into the tin and inevitably pull out more than you actually need (the oil is Vitamin E). So, you need to have your warm water at the ready – the experience isn’t nearly as nice with cold – and scoop out a portion. Rub the sugar grains and oil all over your hands thoroughly and while you do that, make sure you inhale the beautiful fragrance. Rinse away with warm water, dry your hands and admire how soft and conditioned the skin feels. What a treat. If you have broken skin on your hands, I’d advise against using it because really you need something more healing and barrier like, but otherwise, the Tam Mason Nourishing Sugar Hand Scrubs are a lovely addition to your routine. I don’t think they’re expensive either at £15 each There’s an unscented option if you aren’t keen on essential oils.
